The Wong Family

The last name Wong is a name that many people share. The origins of the name can be traced back to the Huang Kingdom located in Henan Province of China. The people of the kingdom had adopted the name, by royal decree, to remember their origins. After many generations, people with the name Wong had spread all over China, and eventually all over the world. With this project, I investigated people with the last name Wong and their relationship to it, how people have gotten the name, and from whom This ranges from seeing no connection, to seeing it as a part of themselves and who they are as a person.
